Keep your lawn safe for dogs

Many of us rent lawn care professionals to help our grass maintain healthy and free of weeds and bugs.  We must remember  that when this same lawn is used by our pooch to play, rest and potty business, then we must take special care to ensure that all lawn sprays used are pet-safe.

Many commercial lawn sprays contain herbicides or pesticides, which can be very dangerous to dogs. Common fertilizer can cause allergic reactions in some dogs as well. As the first signs of spring is just around the corner, perhaps we should be thinking now about making the transition to organic fertilizers. Common organic fertilizers include organic products that are safe for our dogs, such as kelp and algae. Fortunately many landscape companies are beginning to become aware of the growing consumer demand for safe products for our pets and are now using these to care for their grass treatments.
